Audio Podcast: Patients Choose Complementary and Alternative Medicine

Description:

This is an audio podcast from Hospice Palliative Care Insights, a monthly palliative care podcast based in Canada.  In this discussion, Jacquie Peden, an Advanced Practice Nurse interviews Barbara Findlay, a Canadian nurse leader in Integrative Medicine program development (now at the Samueli Institute in Alexandria, Virginia).  This podcast offers one of the most descriptive, in depth and easy to follow discussions on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).  It covers a wide range of topics beginning with basic and current definitions of CAM, current uses and education of CAM in hospitals, private settings and universites and important distinctions such as:  most patients that are using CAM are using it for symptom management not as a curative treatment.
